Celebrity-endorsed products have been around since celebrities themselves, but how many actors and musicians actually get to design the very best? Amid the world of George Foreman grills and Vitamin Water flavors by 50 cent, Leica has teamed up with Lenny Kravitz to create a limited-edition M-P digital rangefinder. "Being able to design my own version of a Leica for my computer Kravitz Design is a huge honor," says Kravitz, who remembers playing with his father's own Leica after he returned from covering the Vietnam War. "Although I didn't have any idea how to operate this thing, I was attracted to the camera because of its design." With a sleek snakeskin trim and a patina that suggest years of use, Kravitz's design additions are certainly befit of a rock star. In addition to the camera, the Kravitz Leica includes the venerable Summicron-M 35 mm f/2 ASPH and the Summilux-M 50 mm f/1.4 ASPH lenses, which have been modified to resemble a 1959 design with knurled focus rings and scalloped aperture rings. It's all contained in a matching snakeskin case and limited to an edition of 125.
